Easter Season for 2026 spans the fifty days from Sunday 5 April to Sunday 24 May

During the season of Easter this year, baptisms may be requested to take place during Sunday Mass in any of the six parishes.

It may seem novel but it’s what the Christian Community did thousands of years ago!

And at Easter? Because Baptism is about Easter. It’s about enrolling your child into the life of the Risen Lord and into the faith community we call a parish - which has encounter with the Risen Jesus as its centre.

This is why in many parts of the world Baptism is only celebrated during Sunday Mass (while the faith community is gathered and can welcome its new members).

Including Baptism at Sunday Mass makes for a truly joyous and memorable celebration. No! It doesn’t take ages!! Because there’s a lot of overlap between the two liturgies.

The priest who will celebrate the Mass and Baptism will connect with you before the day so that you are ready and will be relaxed on the day.
