Prayer of the Faithful for the Second Sunday of Christmas

Introduction (by the Presider) Let us bring our prayers to God, who in Jesus was made flesh:

1. That all men and women of goodwill may believe in God (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
2. That people of different faiths may work together for peace (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
3. That Christians may accept the mystery of Jesus, human and divine (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
4. That this New Year may bring peace to the Middle East (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
5. That refugees and homeless people may be protected from danger (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
6. That all of us may make a new start in this New Year (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for all the dead: For the members of our communities who have died,  (especially N & N), that the light of heaven may be theirs. Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider)O God, you hear our every prayer: be with us now and always, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
