Bidding Prayers
Prayer of the Faithful for the Third Sunday of Advent
Introduction (by the Presider) Let us bring our prayers before God, who raises up those who are bowed down:
- That there may be joy among us (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
- That Christians may come close to Christ (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
- That people in need may be helped (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
- That those withouthomes may get shelter (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
- That children may prepare well for the birthday of Jesus.... (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
- That all people may have new hope.... (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for all the dead: For those who have died (especially N and N), that they may be raised up to glory... (be quiet for five seconds, then add...) Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider)You keep faith with those in need of your kindness and justice, receive the prayers we make, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
