Bidding Prayers
Prayer of the Faithful for 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Introduction(by the Presider): Let us ask our God of compassion to hear and help us:
- That Christian leaders may practice what they preach (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us
- That strangers and foreigners may be protected (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That all intolerance and prejudice may be defeated (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That Christians may show charity to everyone (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That victims of crime may have the support they need (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That we may treat everyone we meet with love (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
The presider prays for the dead: For our dead, (especially N. and N.) tthat they may have a high reward for their good deeds (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider) O God of love and compassion, you turn towards your people in their need, listen to the prayer we make, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
