Alpha Training DayAlpha Training Day

Following on from our very successful Alpha Information Afternoon, the Office for Mission and Ministry are hosting an Alpha training days for Parishes/Families of Parishes

Saturday 3 February 2024
10:00am to 3:30pm
Clonakilty Parish Centre

What is Alpha?

Alpha helps people not just know about the person, Jesus, but to come to know him, to come into an encounter with him, and into a relationship with him. Alpha also brings new life and energy back into the parish community because people form friendships, experience Christian community, and experience God in a new and life-giving way through Alpha.

What happens during an Alpha Training Day?

We will begin at 10.00am with registration and hospitality followed by a welcome and Alpha update. There will be two sessions in the morning. Each session will offer the opportunity to attend one of a number of seminars, for example:

  • What is Alpha and how to get started?
  • Leading small groups
  • Prayer and prayer ministry on Alpha
  • Worship on Alpha and the Holy Spirit Day
  • What happens after Alpha?

We would recommend that a number of people attend from a Parish/Family of Parishes if possible so that your team can bring back the experience of attending all the seminars.

In the second part of the day, participants will get to experience what happens during an Alpha session by partaking in an Alpha meal, welcome and worship, watching a film together followed by small group discussion.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you are interested in attending one of these training days or to find out more about running Alpha in your Parish or Family of Parishes.
